Identify one children's book: There is a small, magical Toy Dog.?
It was probably in 1982 when I read this book … it was a "chapter book" with pictures. There was a young girl who is living with or was visiting an older woman, and in case of glass women, there was a little china dog with rhinestone collar, which came to life. I think he did magic tricks, but maybe just do somersaults, and gave good advice. Any ideas?
This is "no fly in the House" by Betty Brock. The dog's name is Gloria, and she is the guardian of a child Annabel call Tippins. The animal in the glass case that came to life was actually an evil white cat told Anna that if she could kiss her elbow, she was a fairy.
