"I can have my dog on an Electric Fence while training for hunting with a shock collar, at the same time?
My boyfriend and I go to a German short hair in a few weeks. He wants to catch his train and use a shock collar to train. At the same time, we would like an electric fence our house instead of a regular boarded fence. Their concern is that if we do so, the shock electric fence will confuse the dog with a training / download implying. Does anyone have any recommendations or have been in this situation to a resolution? Please do not leave any information that tells me that shock collars and fences are wrong.
A shock collar if used properly, can be a good training tool, but make sure the frequency is fixed at lower and not train the dog to a nearby hot. GSD, DP, ACD, AK POINTER said German short-haired and yes, you idiot, those are hunting dogs. And FYI-A German Short Hair Pointer is a very common breed of hunting dog.
